An absolutely marvelous book, full of things yucky (unbelievably so) and frightening. It is a book of horrors and wonders (as in: I wonder how people could ever have believed such a crock!), yet at the same time personal and warm. I would heartily recommend it to anyone interested in the intertwining of human condition and medical history. ( )
