ment, the Jews had Reafon to reject him,” But it is not only for their Sakes that I send you these two Paffages of our Author, but also to take Occafion to propofe the Confideration of the Point to the most ingenious and learned Author of the late Mifcellanea Sacra, who fays, (s) Chrift must then (That is, in Virtue of Miracles, &c.) be fubmitted to, as the Teacher and the King of God's People; and all that the Apoftles, his Ambaffadors, have taught or commanded us, from him, or from his Spirit, must be received with Faith and Obedience, though we could not shew one Old Teftament Prophesy to relate to him." And if it can be defended, I wish it were ; for it seems highly proper to be done at a Time, when so many learned Men give up the Point to you; who think it a Conceffion of the utmost Importance to you in your Difpute, as, it is evident, the Author of the Mifcellanea Sacra alfo does.
