Orchard-Street, Portman-Square, 30th October, 1813.

THE Letter of Miles has been received, and its contents will be attended to.Mr. John Ambrose Williams's "Lines on the Death of General Moreau" are under consideration. Our best thanks are due to our several Correspondents-their respective favours will be published as opportunities offer. We have been obliged to insert but a small part of our Correspondence from the Theatre of War, owing to the length of the Biographies, and other important articles.-Further communications from our Canadian correspondent are requested. The desire we entertain to render the Royal Military Panorama of the greatest benefit to the Officers of the Army, wil!, at all times, be superior to private interest: and in the present Number it will be found that we have given seven sheets of letter-press (two more than any other periodical work, and one above our usual number) for the purpose of including a great proportion of the Military Gazettes; and in the following Number we hope to insert them up to the day of publication. The Military Gazettes are given verbatim, and no article relative to the Army is ever omitted.

We beg to return our best thanks to Captain D'Angibau for the present of his plate of the Fac Simile of General Moreau's last letter. The communications of this very intelligent officer will always be thankfully received, and have immediate attention.

It has been hinted to us that we have not sufficiently dwelt upon the gracious permission afforded us of adding the title of Royal to this work; but as our views are directed to the benefit and instruction of the army, instead of self-panegyric, we esteemed it sufficient to notice the gratification experienced in receiving an honour which, while it adds further respectability to this work, will be an incentive to our continuing those exertions that have been so hono nably patronized, för the general interest of the army.

Another edition of the early Numbers of the Royal Military Panorama will be shortly published.

In the following Number will be given an important Article, transmitted by our Continental Correspondents, entitled " Aperçu de la Campagne de l'Armée Françoise et de l'Armée combinée Russo-Prussienne l'an 1813. Première Division, de la Bataille de Lutzen jusqu'au passage de l'Elbe par les deux Armées:" illustrated with a beautiful map, shewing the movements of the different armies at the battle of Lutzen, and previous and subsequent thereto.

We shall give Publicity in this Volume to various highly important State Papers, and other interesting Documents relating to all the foreign Courts of Europe; their Policy, Resources, and Cabinet Intrigues-These Papers will be procured and drawn up expressly for the Royal Military Panorama, and we therefore shall feel it an obligation due to ourselves, to punish with the greatest severity any plagiarisms, &c. therefrom.

In compliance with the wishes of several distinguished Officers, a List of the Subscribers and Supporters of this Work will be published with the Third Volume. The Friends to the Undertaking are therefore requested to communicate their Names and Addresses to the Editor, 33, Orchard-Street, Portman Square.

Military Essays, Reviews of Military Works, Biographical Notes, Journals of Sieges, and every Military Operation, will at all times be particularly attended to; and the authors of such communications may rest assured that the Editor will preserve an inviolable secrecy as to their names, and when requested will confer with them personally on the subject of their communications.

As the Panorama is published in a manner that will always render it not only a useful and necessary, but also an elegant work for the confined library of the Military man, and to deserve a prominent place on the shelves of the scholar and the gentleman, it consequently requires very considerable time for printing and binding, and it is therefore requested that those correspondents who are desirous for an early publication of their favours, will transmit them at the commencement of each month, directed to the Editor, 33, Orchard-Street, Portman-Square.
