THE WAYS OF THE LORD ARE INFINITELY ABOVE
THOSE OF MAN.
"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are
my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts
than your thoughts.”—Isa. Lv. 9, first clause,

THE RAIN AND THE SNOW ARE TO THE EARTH,
WHAT THE WORD OF GOD IS TO THE SOUL OF
MAN.
"For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from
heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the
earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it

may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater;
so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my
mouth."-ISA. LV. 10, 11,

THE WORD OF GOD SHALL ACCOMPLISH HIS
OWN PURPOSE.
"So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return unto me void; but it shall
accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper
in the thing whereto I sent it."-Isa. Lv. 11,

THE JOY AND PEACE THAT ACCOMPANY BELIEF
OF THE TRUTH.

peace the mountains and the hills shall break forth
before you into singing, and all the trees of the field
shall clap their hands.”—Isa. LV. 12,

THE PERMANENT HOLINESS RESULTING FROM
THE BELIEF OF THE TRUTH.

instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle-tree :
and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an ever-
lasting sign that shall not be cut off."-ISA. LV. 13, 135

THE RECEPTION OF THE GOSPEL INTO THE HEART

GOD, AND RIGHTEOUSNESS TOWARD MEN.
"Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do jus-
tice for my salvation is near to come, and my
righteousness to be revealed."- Isa. LVI. 1,.

THE OBSERVANCE OF THE SABBATH IS AN OUT-
WARD SIGN OF SPIRITUAL OBEDIENCE.
"Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man
that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from
polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any
evil."-ISA. LVI. 2, .

NEITHER GENTILE BIRTH NOR CEREMONIAL RE-
STRICTION CAN PREVENT A HUMAN BEING
FROM BEING JOINED TO THE LORD AND HIS
CHURCH.
"Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined
himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath
utterly separated me from his people: neither let the
eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree."-ISA. LVI. 3, 167

NOTWITHSTANDING ANY BODILY DEFECT OR CERE-
MONIAL RESTRICTION, EVERY HUMAN BEING
THAT CULTIVATES TRUE HOLINESS SHALL HAVE
A GRACIOUS PLACE IN THE DIVINE FAVOUR.
“For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep
my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me,
and take hold of my covenant; even unto them will
I give in mine house, and within my walls, a place
and a name better than of sons and of daughters."

THE GENTILES, THAT JOIN THEMSELVES TO THE
LORD, SHALL BE GRACIOUSLY RECEIVED INTO
HIS CHURCH.
"Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves
to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of
the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth
the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of
my covenant; even them will I bring to my holy
mountain."-ISA. LVI. 6, 7, .

THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE SPIRITUAL WORSHIP OF
THE GENTILES IN THE CHURCH UNIVERSAL.
"Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and
make them joyful in my house of prayer: their
burnt-offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted
upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called
an house of prayer for all people.”—Isa. LVI. 7,
