THE portrait of Lady Rodney, which we have here the honour of introducing in our Picture Gallery of the Female Nobility of Britain, is from Pickersgill's admirable painting of her Ladyship, somewhat altered and improved in the head-dress since it appeared in the exhibition of the past sea-bruary, 1806, he resigned his high legal apson, at Somerset House.*

Charlotte Georgiana, second daughter of Sir Charles Gould Morgan, Bart., was married, on the 27th of February, 1819, to Lord Rodney, the grandson and present representative of the celebrated Admiral Lord Rodney, one of Britain's most distinguished naval heroes. This lady is maternally descended from the Morgans, of Tredegar,|| in the county of Monmouth; a family which, for many generations, has been renowned for its wealth, high character, and extended influence, in Wales and in Monmouthshire. For more than a century, the county of Monmouth has been almost constantly represented in Parliament, by a member of the name of Morgan.

King Gould, Esq. married a lady of the name of Shaw. The issue of this marriage was the Right Hon. Charles Gould, LL.D., &c., who was created a Baronet in the year 1792. This gentleman was bred to the law, and called to the bar when young. In June, 1762, he was appointed Judge Advocate General, and Judge Marshal of the Forces; in April, 1779, he received the honour of knighthood, and was appointed one of His Majesty's Privy Council; and, on the 30th

Sir Charles, in pursuance of the will of his brother-in-law, John Morgan, Esq., from whose family he derived considerable property, obtained the royal license to assume the name and arms of Morgan, He died in December, 1806.

His son, Sir Charles Gould Morgan, the present Baronet, was a soldier in early life. He served seventeen years in the Coldstream regiment of Guards.
