And here is Miss Pussy,
She means by "mee-ow,"
Give me, too, some milk
From the good moolly cow.

When children are hungry,
Oh, who can tell how
They love the fresh milk
From the good moolly cow!

So when you meet moolly,
Please say, with a bow,
"Thank you for your milk,
Mrs. Good Moolly Cow."

SONGS FOR LITTLE ONES AT HOME.

GOD IN EVERYTHING.

In the sun, the moon, the sky;
In the mountain wild and high;
In the thunder, in the rain,

In the winds, the woods, the plain;
In the little birds that sing,-

God is seen in everything.

MOTHER, now tell,

Why do you love your baby so well?

The mother said, "Oh!

And you not know ?
Sweet and happy it lies,
It frets not, nor cries;
And is full of its glee
As the bird on the tree;
It smiles on my breast
As it goes to its nest;
And it wakes in its bliss

With a smile and a kiss;

And that is the reason I love it so well;

How dearly, how dearly, I never can tell!"

Baby, now tell,

Why do

you love your mother so well?

The baby said, "Oh!

And you not know?

She keeps me from harm,

Holds me soft on her arm;
And if I am ill,

Watches over me still;

Gives me good things to eat,

And kisses so sweet;

And is kindest to me,

Of all that I see;

And that is the reason I love her so well;

How dearly, how dearly, I never can tell!"

LITTLE SUSY.

OUR SAVIOUR'S GOLDEN RULE.

BE

you to others kind and true,
As you'd have others be to you;
And neither do nor say to men
Whate'er you would not take again.

WATTS.

HASTE! put your playthings all away, To-morrow is the Sabbath-day.

Come, bring to me your Noah's ark, Your pretty tinkling music-cart; Because, my love, you must not play, But holy keep the Sabbath-day.

Bring me your German village, please,
With all its houses, gates, and trees;
Your waxen doll with eyes of blue,
And all her tea-things, bright and new;
Because, you know, you must not play,
But love to keep the Sabbath-day.

Now take your Sunday pictures down;
King David with his harp and crown,
Good little Samuel on his knees,

And many pleasant sights like these;
Because, you know, you must not play,
But learn of God upon this day.

There is your hymn-book. You shall learn
A verse, and some sweet kisses earn;
Your book of Bible stories, too,
Which dear mamma will read to you;
I think, although you must not play,
We'll have a happy Sabbath-day.

MARY L. DUNCAN.

FOR A VERY LITTLE CHILD UPON GETTING WELL.

I THANK the Lord who lives on high,

He heard an infant pray,

And cured me, that I should not die,

And took my pains away.

Oh let me thank and love Thee too,
As long as I shall live;

And every naughty thing I do,
I pray Thee to forgive!
