THE reader will find in the following pages a scriptural View of Christ, as our atoning Priest, Intercessor, and Judge. My object in taking this view of the Saviour has been, to discover to the sinner the nature and magnitude of his guilt, and open to him the way of pardon; as well as point out to believers the only unfailing source of encouragement, hope, and consolation. The character and work of Christ should be regarded by all with the deepest interest; and it is hoped that the considerations here presented may lead those who read them to a just appreciation of Him who, though he was rich, yet for our sakes became poor, that we through his poverty might be rich. 1* |
