satisfiest the desire of every living thing (e). Thou providest for the ravens when they cry (ƒ), and the young lions seek their meat from thee (g). Thou makest the day spring to know his place (h), and stretchest out the shadow of the evening (i). By thy breath frost is given: thou thunderest marvellously with thy voice: great things doest thou which we cannot comprehend (j. Fire and hail, snow and vapours, wind and storm, fulfil thy word (k).

Who is like unto the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high, who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth()! The

Lord preserveth man and beast (m): before him not a sparrow is forgotten; and even the very hairs of our head are all numbered (n). He openeth the eyes of the blind, and raiseth up them that are bowed down (o). O that men would therefore praise the Lord for his goodness, and declare the wonders that he doeth for the children of men(p)! My mouth shall speak thy praise, O Lord; and let all flesh bless thy holy name, for ever and ever (q).

TUAL MERCIES.

Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. Rom. iv. 7, 8.

O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortest me. I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song: he also is become my salvation (a). Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, and I will exalt thee (b). I called upon thy name, O Lord, thou didst hear my voice: thou drewest near,

thou saidst, "Fear not (c): for a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee: in a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment, but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy upon thee (d)." Who is a God like thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by transgression (e)? I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid: I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord, and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin(f).

In thee, O Lord, have I righteousness and strength (g): I had fainted, unless I had believed to see thy goodness in the land of the living (h). Thou

restorest my soul; thou leadest me in the paths of righteousness (i); and givest unto me exceeding great and precious promises (j). Thou hast shewed me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy: at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore (m). Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in Him(n).
