O LORD, open Thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. For Thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give ; Thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of GOD are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O GOD, Thou wilt not despise.

LET the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my Strength and my Redeemer

UNTO Thee lift I up mine eyes, O Thou that dwellest in the heavens.

QUICKEN me, O LORD, according to thy Word. Accept, I beseech Thee, the free-will offerings of my mouth, O LORD, and teach me thy judgments.

HELP us, O GOD of our salvation for the glory of thy name; and deliver us, and purge away our sins; for thy name's sake.

THUS

SENTENCES INTRODUCTORY TO PRAYER.

HUS saith the LORD, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the LORD of Hosts; I am the first, and I am the last, and beside Me there is no GOD

THUS saith the LORD, that created the heavens : GOD Himself, that formed the earth and made it. I am the LORD; and there is none else; a just GOD and a Saviour, there is none besides Me.

LOOK unto Me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is none else.

COME unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek, and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest to your souls.

For

AND I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.

THE hour cometh, nnd now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the FATHER in spirit and in truth; for the FATHER seeketh such to worship Him. GOD is a Spirit; and they that worship Him, must worship in spirit and in truth.

BLESSED is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

I SAID, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD, and Thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. For this shall every one that is godly pray unto Thee in a time when Thou mayest be found surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.

I AM the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one cometh unto the FATHER but by Me. If ye had known Me ye would have known my FATHER also: and from henceforth ye know Him and have seen Him. He that hath seen Me hath seen the FATHER.

I AM the vine, ye are the branches; he that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing. If ye abide in Me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

IF ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children; how much more shall the Heavenly FATHER give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him.

AGAIN I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth, as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my FATHER who is in Heaven: for where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

WHAT things soever ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any that your FATHER also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your FATHER who is in heaven forgive your trespasses:

O COME let us worship and bow down: let us kneel befor the LORD our Maker.

BRETHREN: The Word of God assures us that he that asketh, receiveth, he that seeketh, findeth, and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened; and that to the humble and contrite heart, the LORD is ever near: let us therefore, with humility and faith, draw near to the LORD, to confess before Him our sins, to implore his mercies and forgiveness, to seek light and strength from Him for all our needs, and to thank Him for his unspeakable goodness to us; humbly kneeling and saying:

PRAYERS FROM THE WORD.

UNTO Thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. O my GOD, I trust

in Thee let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. Show me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me; for Thou art the GOD of my salvation on Thee do I wait all the day

REMEMBER, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy loving kindnesses ; for they have been ever of old. Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember Thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.

UNTO Thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. For Thou, O LORD, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy to all that call upon Thee. Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications. In the day of my trouble I will call upon Thee: for Thou wilt answer me. Among the gods there is none like unto Thee, O LORD; neither are there any works like unto thy works. All nations whom Thou hast made shall come and worship before Thee, O LORD; and shall glorify thy name. For Thou art great, and doest wondrous things: Thou art GOD alone.

TEACH me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. I will praise Thee, O LORD my GOD, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore,

THE LORD'S PRAYER AND CONFESSIONS.

OUR

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

UR FATHER, who art in the heavens: Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so also upon the earth. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we also forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the

Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, forever.

HA

CONFESSIONS.

Amen.

AVE mercy upon me, O GOD, according to thy loving kindness according to the multitude of thy tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.

O LORD our GOD, we confess that we have sinned against Thee in thought, word, and deed; we have erred from thy ways; we have followed the devices of our own hearts, and there is no health in us. But Thou, O LORD, art good and ready to forgive, and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon Thee. Help us, O GOD of our salvation, for the glory of thy name, and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake. Amen.

O LORD, our heavenly Father, who, of thy great mercy, hast promised forgiveness of sins to ail them that repent and turn unto Thee, have mercy upon us: deliver us from all our evils, strengthen us in all goodness, and bring us unto everlasting life. Amen.

WE Confess, O Heavenly Father, that in thought, word, and work, we have sinned against heaven and in thy sight, and are not worthy to be called thy children. But Thou, O LORD, art good, and ready to forgive, and plenteous in mercy to all them that call upon Thee. Lead us, O LORD, to true repentance. Search our hearts by the light of thy truth, and renew a right spirit within us, that we may be enabled to see and acknowledge our evils, and to shun them as sins against Thee, and in the faithful and diligent performance of our duties, may learn to do justly, and love mercy, and walk humbly with Thee our GOD. Amen.

PRAYERS AND THANKSGIVINGS.

For the Divine Blessing on the Worship and Instruction. LORD, our heavenly FATHER, by whose mercy we are enabled to meet together to offer unto Thee our united prayer and praise, and to meditate upon thy Word: We thank Thee for the privileges of Divine worship, for the ministry of thy Holy Gospel, and for all the means which Thou hast appointed for our spiritual instruction and the attainment of everlasting life. Bless now, we beseech Thee, O LORD, our assembling in thy Name. Enable us so to dispose our thoughts and affections that our worship may be acceptable in thy sight. Grant that thy Holy Word may be taught in its purity and received in humble and willing hearts. Give us a spiritual discernment of its heavenly wisdom, and guide us in a faithful application of it to our own lives. May thy words so abide in us, that we may abide in Thee. Awaken and strengthen in us a more abiding interest in what is spiritual and eternal, and a more abiding love to Thee and to the neighbor. Lead us to acknowledge thy providence in all the experiences of life, and in all things to follow Thee in the regeneration. Amen.

For Divine Direction.

ORDER our steps in thy Word, O LORD, and let not any iniquity have dominion over us. Give us strength against our in.. ward foes. Deliver us from all idolatry of self and of the world, from all error, pride, and self-will. Save us from all rejection of thy truth, from prejudice, blindness, and hardness of heart. Lead us, O LORD, and teach us, that we may avoid all secret sir. and open transgression; that we may be free from malice and unkindness, from selfish and covetous desires, from ingratitude to Thee and to our neighbor, from worldly-mindedness and discontent. Help us to forgive our enemies, to love our neighbor as ourselves, and to do unto others as we would that they should do unto us. Hold up our goings in thy paths, that our footsteps slip not. Keep our tongues from evil and our lips from speaking guile; that we may depart from evil and do good; may seek peace and pursue it. Amen.
