O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land where no water is. Ps. lxiii. 1. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. But know that the Lord hath Ps. v. 3. set apart the Lord him that is godly for himself: will hear when I call unto him. Ps. iv. 3. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Ps. ciii. 2. O most merciful and gracious God, my heavenly Father, I kneel before Thee this morning with a heart full of gratitude for thy care and protection during the past night. O continue it to me this day. Grant that I may fall into no sin, neither run into any kind of danger. Let me continually remember that thine eye is ever upon me, and may this thought make me careful to do nothing which will offend or displease Thee, my long-suffering and gracious God. O increase my faith, and trust, and confidence in Thee; so that I may firmly believe that whatever cares and anxieties Thou seest fit to send me, however hard to bear, it is for my good.
