What are the effects on a Christian's life when he experiences the love of God? What lessons may be learned by following one man's journey as he explores the "breadth and length and height and depth" of God's love? What does it mean to be a partner with God? Written by a retired missionary in the form of a daily devotional, this book combines a lifetime of personal experiences with Biblical principles. It covers topics such as patriotic love, brotherly love, love calls children home, love among the ruins and self love, to name but a few. These are illustrated with quotations from literature or Scripture, and by recounting personal vignettes or the life experiences of other individuals. The reader will be encouraged to embrace the several aspects of God's love. John L. Davey was born in 1916 in Rochester, Kent County, England. He emigrated to Australia with his parents in 1929. In 1935 he obeyed the Lord's call to be a missionary. His career began in 1940 in the island of Dominica, West Indies with the Worldwide Evangelization Crusade (W. E. C.) He opened a Christian bookstore there in 1942 with the Christian Literature Crusade (C. L. C.), the literature division of W. E. C. Under his leadership, as Caribbean General Manager, stores were opened in Trinidad, Antigua, Jamaica, Belize and Barbados. He moved to Canada in 1974 as C. L. C. General Manager and retired in 1978 in Edmonton, Alberta. He exchanged his earthly residence for a heavenly mansion in 1984 where he now resides with his wife who joined him in 2006.
