I In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy. 8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. 6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his Redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and besides me there is no God. 2 Thy throne is established of old; thou art from everlasting. 2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead. 19 Thou, O Lord, remainest forever; thy throne from generation to generation. I Tim. vi: 16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see; to whom be honor and power everlasting. 14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM; and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. Exod. iii: Deut. iv: Isa. xlv: 15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. 35 Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the Lord he is God; there is none else beside him. 36 Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire. 6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none besides me. I am the Lord, and there is none else. Deu.xxxiii: 27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. Psal. c: 5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. I Tim. i: 17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen. John i: Luke iv: THE TRIUNE GOD. I In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. John xiv: 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John x: Heb. i: 7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 30 I and my Father are one. 7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. I God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds. Mat.xxviii: 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Acts ii: Eph. ii: I Pet. i: Jude 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. 32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. II Cor. xiii: 14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. THE TRIUNE CREATOR. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of Job xxxiii: 4 The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Isa xl: Heb. xi: Jer. x: Isa xl: 26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God. 12 He hath made the earth by his power, He hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. 28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. Psal. civ: 30 Thou sendeth forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth. II Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy Holy Spirit from me. 9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ. 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. IO For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. II Cor. v: 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Gen. i: Gen. iii: Rom. v: CREATION AND FALL OF MAN. 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 13 For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. 15 But not as the offense, so also is the free gift: for if through the offense of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. 16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offenses unto justification. 17 For if by one man's offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. 18 Therefore, as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. 21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. SIN AND CORRUPTION OF MAN. Gen. vi: 5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. II The earth also was corrupt before God; and the earth was filled with violence. 12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. Eccl. vii: 20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. Rom. viii: 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. I John, i: 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. Rom. iii: Isa. xxx: Jer. xliv: Prov. xv: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. IO As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: II There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. I Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin. 23 And because ye have sinned against the Lord, and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day. 8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord; but the prayer of the upright is his delight. 9 The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness. I John iii: 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Rom. v: Isa. liii: 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one man shall many be made righteous. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. |
