KANSAS CITY HOMOEOPATHIC HOSPITAL,
MARY J. GREEN, M. D.,

House Physician,

817 and 819 E. 8th Street, KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 19, 1891.

Wm. H. Parsons, M. D.:

DEAR DOCTOR:—I have used Bovinine in a case of extreme anæmia, resulting from an operation for atresia, in which a pelvic abscess followed.

The stomach became so irritable that all food was rejected, and vomiting continued for three weeks.

During the third week of the vomiting I introduced Bovinine per rectum as a nutrient. In a short time the vomiting grew less, and soon ceased altogether. She began to take some food by the mouth in small quantities. She has been gradually improving since I first began to use it, and is now on a general diet, though I still give the Bovinine also. I feel confident that Bovinine was largely instrumental in saving. her life.

-The lack of suitable foods for convalescents from severe illness, and in the treatment of Typhoid and other low fevers, is often felt by the practical physician. Milk, while of very great use generally, cannot be taken, and frequently causes trouble on account of the indigestibility of the casein. The various beef extracts are more stimulating than nourishing, and the majority of the prepared foods offered are either unpleasant to the taste or difficult of digestion, and unsuited to the needs of the case. In such cases Malted Milk will form a very welcome addition to the dietary of the sick room. The basis of this food is pure fresh sterilized milk, Engelbach's, $1.00 per package of ten.

in which the casein is rendered digestible by the action of the plant pepsin produced by a special method of malt

In my opinion there is no prepared food that equals Bovinine as a nutrient in all conditions of exhaustion, from whatever cause. Very truly yours,

M. J. GREEN.

I have the pleasure of announcing that my record in walking professionally is unequalled in the world by any one with artificial legs. THOMAS CLEARY.
