keep us this day outwardly as to our bodies, as well as inwardly in our souls. Grant us such a measure of health and strength, as may enable us for the duties of our callings, or sanctify to us weakness and pain. Feed us with food convenient for us. Make us diligent in business without anxiety, and succeed all our lawful undertakings. May we not be so lifted up by prosperity, nor cast down by adversity, as to forget thee. Keep us sensible of the value of life, and so mindful of its shortness, that we may improve every passing engagement in preparation for the life to come. AN INTERCESSORY PRAYER.

O GOD, the Author of all goodness, have compassion upon all our fellow-creatures, and extend to them the saving light of thy Gospel. Regard in mercy all sorts and conditions of men according to their different necessities. Guide and bless thy Universal Church, especially that branch of it to which we belong, with all its Bishops and Pastors, and that congregation and its Minister, with which we are wont to worship. Pour out the dew of thy grace on all the Ministers of thy Word; on all Missionaries, and on all recent converts to thy holy religion. Bless the King, and all the royal Family. A THANKSGIVING.

MOST gracious Father, accept we beseech thee our praises and thanksgivings, which together with our prayers and intercessions, we now offer unto thee. How dear are the thoughts of thy mercies unto us! How great is the sun of them! Thanks be unto thee for the rest of the past night, and the restored light of day; for the health we now enjoy, and for our exemption from various afflictions by which others are bowed down. But we more especially adore thee for spiritual blessings, the means of grace, and the gift of the Holy Ghost: and for redeeming us, who had sold ourselves under sin and death, with the precious blood of Christ, who by his sufferings and death hath purchased

for us peace and a crown of life. Lord, fill us with thy grace, that we may abound in thanksgivings, and daily, both with our lips and in our lives, shew forth thy praise, who alone calleth us out of darkness into thy marvellous light; through Jesus Christ, to whom with thee and the Holy Ghost, be all honour, and glory, world without end.
