ON the completion of the Fourth Volume of the Pocket Magazine, the Publisher begs leave to return his sincére thanks to the Public, for the extensive patronage which has been extended to the work. Nor is he less grateful for the considerate patience displayed by his friends, in overlooking the delay which, solely in consequence of circumstances equally painful and injurious to him, has occurred in the delivery of the plates. He has now well-grounded reason to believe that he shall not again have occasion to put their patience to the trial,

In order to complete the series of embel- ' lishments to Lord Byron's works, six more plates are now preparing; and neither expense nor pains will be spared to render them worthy of approbation.

It is requested, by the Editor, that contributions may be sent as early in the month as possible. Tours, Sketches of the State of Society, Manners, Laws, Manufactures and Recources, in different countries, Original Tales, and Moral and Humourous Essays, will be particularly acceptable.
