6. Find an expression for the potential energy of a small crystalline sphere movable about its centre in a uniform field of magnetic force, and shew that it tends to turn its axis of greatest magnetic coefficient parallel to the lines of force.

In the case of a small mass of an isotropic substance, whose susceptibility to magnetic induction is feeble, placed in a field of force due to magnets at a considerable distance, prove that the directive tendency is very small as compared with the tendency to motion of the centre of gravity of the mass.
