And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. The Israelites are overcome by the Philistines at Eben-ezer. 3 They fetch the ark to the terror of the Philistines. 10 They are smitten again, the ark is taken, and Hophni and Phinchas slain. 12 Eli, at the news, falling backward, breaketh his neck. 19 Phineha's wife, in her travail with Ichabod, dieth. And they answered, Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried about unto Gath.
