The finest base obtainable for ointments, cosmetics, and
similar preparations; far cheaper than Lanolin or wool-fat,
and superior to the petrolatum bases. Druggists who have
undertaken its manufacture, however, have found it a very
difficult task. In the first place, com-
plete blending is impossible except with
special apparatus; and even were the
methods of manufacture satisfactory,
the pharmacist finds difficulty in obtain-
ing the right quality of lard, or cannot
refine it properly.
We claim for our preparation,
first, a superior quality of lard - refined expressly for the
purpose. Second, complete blending. As a matter of fact,
this is practically impossible except in a laboratory equipped
for the purpose. Third, we use only the best benzoin.
Fourth, the texture is just what is required by the trade-
no wax or paraffin or any
artificial agents are used to
furnish the required stiffness.
Fifth, it will not granulate, be-
come watery, rancid, or other-
wise change under ordinary
conditions of exposure.
