The hope expressed on page 285 concerning Andromeda polifolia, L. has been fulfilled since that page was printed. October 18, 1894, Mr. G. S. Newcomb of Westborough reported to me the finding of this shrub in a swamp close by that village, and a few days later I had the pleasure of visiting the locality and of finding it in abundance. I shall be glad to receive any information as to the discovery of species hitherto unrecorded within our limits, or any facts concerning the distribution of our rarer species already recorded. The preceding list contains 1,098 species and varieties, of which 55 are cryptogams. APPENDIX B. THE trees, shrubs and evergreen flowering plants growing without cultivation in Worcester County.
