cerned therein, are in fome measure connected and interwoven with each other; it is thought proper here to reprefent them together, that the reader may at once have a full and distinct comprehenfion of the whole.

I. Of the customs in general.

By 27 G. 3. c. 13. after the 10th May 1787, all fub- Former duties fidies, cuftoms, impofitions, or duties whatever, refpecting repealed, the revenue of cuftoms, payable by virtue of any act or acts of parliament then in force, upon the importation of any goods, wares, or merchandize, into Great Britain; or upon the exportation thereof from Great Britain; or upon being brought or carried coaftwife from port to port within the faid kingdom; and the feveral drawbacks allowed upon the exportation thereof, or on any account whatever refpecting the duties of cuftoms; and alfo the additional impofts on duties charged upon the product and amount of the faid feveral duties of cuftoms, are repealed, except for recovering arrears. f. 1.

But the fame fhall not extend to any duties payable to the Exceptions. city of London, or any other city or town corporate in Great Britain. Or to repeal or alter the prifage of wines; the duty called butlerage; or the duty on fea coal exported from Newcastle; or to any special privilege or exemption to which any perfon, bodies politick or corporate, are entitled by law. Nor to alter or affect any bounty or premium now payable out of the customs on importation or exportation of any goods, wares, or merchandize, but the fame fhall continue to be paid and allowed as heretofore. f. 1, 30.
