3. Und es famen etliche zu ihm, die brachten einen Gichtbrüchigen, von Bieren getragen.

4 Und da ste nicht konnten beh ihm kommen vor dem Volke, deckten sie das Dach auf, da er war, und gruben es auf, und ließen das Bett hernieder, da der Gichtbrüchige innen lag.

5 Da aber Jesus ihren Glauben sah, sprach er zu dem Gichtbrüchigen : Mein Sohn, deine Sünden sind dir vergeben. 6 Es waren aber etliche Schriftgelehrte, die saßen allda, und gedachten in ihren Herzen:

7 Wie redet dieser solche Gottesläste= rung! Wer fann Sünden vergeben, denn allein Gott?

8 Und Jesus erkannte bald in seinem Geiste, daß sie also gedachten bey sich selbst; und sprach zu ihnen: Was gedenket ihr solches in euren Herzen ?

9 Welches ist leichter, zu dem Gichtbrüchigen zu sagen: Dir sind deine Sünden vergeben; oder: Stehe auf, nimm dein Bett, und wandle ?

10 Auf daß ihr aber wisset, daß des Menschen Sohn Macht habe, zu vergeben die Sünden auf Erden, sprach er zu dem Gichtbrüchigen :

11 Ich sage dir, stehe auf, nimm dein Bett, und gehe heim!

12 Und alsobald stand er auf, nahm fein Bett, und ging hinaus vor allen; also, daß sie sich alle entsetzten, und priesen Gott, und sprachen: Wir haben solches noch nie gesehen.

13 Und er ging wiederum hinaus an das Meer; und alles Volk kam zu ihm, und er lehrete sie.

14 Und da Jesus vorüber ging, sah er Levi, den Sohn Alphäi, am Zolle sitzen; und sprach zu ihm: Folge mir nach. Und er stand auf, und folgte ihm nach.

3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.

4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

6 But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,

7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

8 And immediately, when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?

10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)

11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.

12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

13 And he went forth again by the sea-side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them.

14 And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alpheus, sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.

15 Und es begab sich, da er zu Tische faß in seinem Hause, setzten sich viele Zöllner und Sünder zu Tische mit Jefu und seinen Jüngern. Denn ihrer waren viele, die ihm nachfolgten.

16 Und die Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer, da sie sahen, daß er mit den Zöllnern und Sündern aß, sprachen sie zu seinen Jüngern: Warum isset und trinket er mit den Zöllnern und Sündern?

17 Da das Jesus hörete, sprach er zu ihnen: Die Starken bedürfen feines Arztes, sondern die Kranken. Ich bin gekommen, zu rufen die Sünder zur Buße, und nicht die Gerechten.

18 Und die Jünger Johannis und der Pharifäer fasteten viel. Und es kamen Etliche, die sprachen zu ihm: Warum fasten die Jünger Johannis und der Pharifäer, und deine Jünger fasten nicht?

19 Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: Wie können die Hochzeitleute fasten, dieweil der Bräutigam bey ihnen ist? Alsolang der Bräutigam bey ihnen ist, können sie nicht fasten.

20 Es wird aber die Zeit kommen, daß der Bräutigam von ihnen genommen wird; dann werden sie fasten.

21 Niemand flickt einen Lappen von neuem Tuch an ein altes Kleid; denn der neue Lappen reißt doch vom alten, und der Riß wird ärger.

17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole, have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.

18 And the disciples of John, and of the Pharisees, used to fast: and they come, and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John, and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?

19 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.

20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.

21 No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up, taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse.

22 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.

23 And it came to pass, that he went through the corn-fields on the sabbath-day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn.

24 And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath-day that which is not lawful?

25 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Habt ihr nie gelesen, was David that, da es ihm noth war, und ihn hungerte, sammt denen, die bey ihm waren?

26 Wie er ging in das Haus Gottes, zur Zeit Abjathars, des Hohenpriesters, und aß die Schaubrode, die Niemand durfte essen, denn die Priester, und er gab sie auch denen, die beh ihm waren.

27 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Der Sabbath ist um des Menschen willen gemacht, und nicht der Mensch um des Sabbaths willen.

28 So ist des Menschen Sohn ein Herr auch des Sabbaths.

Das 3 Capitel.

Und er ging abermal in die Schule.

25 And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungered, he and they that were with him?

26 How he went into the house of God, in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shew-bread, which is not lawful to eat, but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? 27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

28 Therefore, the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

CHAPTER III.

hatte eine verdorrete Hand.

2 Und sie hielten auf ihn, ob er auch am Sabbathe ihn heilen würde, auf daß sie eine Sache zu ihm hätten.

3 Und er sprach zu dem Menschen mit der verdorreten Hand: Tritt hervor!

4 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Soll man am Sabbathe Gutes thun, oder Böses thun? Das Leben erhalten, oder tödten? Sie aber schwiegen stille.

5 Und er sah sie umher an mit Zorne, und war betrübt über ihrem verstockten Herzen, und sprach zu dem Menschen: Strecke deine Hand aus! Und er streckte sie aus; und die Hand ward ihm gesund, wie die andere.

6 Und die Pharisäer gingen hinaus, und hielten alsobald einen Rath mit Herodis Dienern über ihn, wie sie ihn umbrächten.

7 Aber Jesus entwich mit seinen Jüngern an das Meer; und viel Volfs folgte ihm nach aus Galiläa, und aus Judäa,

8 Und von Jerusalem, und aus Jdumäa, und von jenseit des Jordans,

synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.

2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath-day; that they might accuse him.

3 And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.

4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbathdays, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? but they held their peace. 5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out and his hand was restored whole as the other.

6 And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

7 But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judea,

8 And from Jerusalem, and from Idumea, and from beyond Jordan

und die um Thro und Sidon wohnen, eine große Menge, die feine Thaten höreten, und kamen zu ihm.

9 Und er sprach zu seinen Jüngern, daß sie ihm ein Schifflein hielten um des Volks willen, daß sie ihn nicht drängeten.

10 Denn er heilete ihrer Biele, also, daß ihn überfielen alle, die geplagt waren, auf daß sie ihn anrühreten,

11 Und wenn ihn die unsaubern Geister sahen, fielen sie vor ihm nieder, schrieen und sprachen: Du bist Gottes Sohn.

12 Und er bedrohete sie hart, daß sie ihn nicht offenbar machten.

13 Und er ging auf einen Berg, und rief zu sich, welche er wollte; und die gingen hin zu ihm.

14 Und er ordnete die Zwölfe, daß sie bey ihm seyn sollten, und daß er fie aussendete zu predigen,

15 Und daß sie Macht hätten, die Seuchen zu heilen, und die Teufel auszutreiben.

16 und gab dem Simon den Namen Petrus;

17 Ünd Jakobum, den Sohn Zebedäi, und Johannem, den Bruder Jakobi; und gab ihnen den Namen Bnehar gem, das ist gesagt, Donnerskinder ;

18 Und Andream, und Philippum, und Bartholomäum, und Matthäum, und Thomam, und Jakobum, Alphäi Sohn, und Thaddäum, und Simon von Cana;

19 Und Judas Ischarioth, der ihn verrieth.

20 Und sie kamen zu Hause; und da kam abermal das Bolt zusammen, also, daß sie nicht Raum hatten zu essen.

21 Und da es höreten, die um ihn waren, gingen sie hinaus, und wollten ihn halten; denn sie sprachen: Er wird von Sinnen kommen.

22 Die Schriftgelehrten aber, die von Jerusalem herabgekommen waren.

and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.

9 And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him, because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.

10 For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.

11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.

12 And he straitly charged them, that they should not make him known.

13 And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would and they came unto him.

14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,

15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils.

16 And Simon he surnamed Peter.

17 And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James, (and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder,)

18 And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alpheus, and Thaddeus, and Simon the Canaanite,

19 And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him and they went into an house.

20 And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.

21 And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside

23 Und er rief sie zusammen, und sprach zu ihnen in Gleichnissen: Wie fann ein Satan den andern austreiben? 24 Wenn ein Reich mit ihm selbst unter einander uneins wird, mag es nicht bestehen.

25 Und wenn ein Haus mit ihm selbst unter einander uneins wird, mag es nicht bestehen.

26 Setzet sich nun der Satan wider sich selbst, und ist mit ihm selbst uneins; so kann er nicht bestehen, sondern es ist | aus mit ihm.

27 Es fann niemand einem Starken in sein Haus fallen, und seinen Hausrath rauben; es sey denn, daß er zuvor den Starken binde, uud alsdann sein Haus beraube.

28 Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Alle Sünden werden vergeben den Menschenkindern, auch die Gotteslästerung, damit sie Gott lästern.

29 Wer aber den heiligen Geist lästert, der hat keine Vergebung ewiglich, fon dern ist schuldig des ewigen Gerichts.

30 Denn sie sagten: Er hat einen unsaubern Geist.

31 Und es fam seine Mutter und seine Brüder, und standen draußen, schickten zu ihm, und ließen ihn rufen. 32 (Und das Volk faß um ihn.) Und sie sprachen zu ihm: Siche, deine Mutter und deine Brüder draußen fragen nach dir.

33 Und er antwortete ihnen, und sprach: Wer ist meine Mutter, und meine Brüder?

34 Und er sah rings um sich auf die Jünger, die um ihn im Kreise saßen, und sprach: Siehe, das ist meine Mutter und meine Brüder.

35 Denn wer Gottes Willen thut, der ist mein Bruder, und meine Schwester und meine Mutter.

He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.

23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

25 And if an house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.

27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewithsoever they shall blaspheme:

29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation :

30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

31 There came then his brethren and his mother, and standing without, sent unto him, calling him. 32 And the multitude sat about him; and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.

33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?

34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold, my mother and my brethren!

35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

CHAPTER IV.
