He is a beautiful black horse, stands 15 hands 3 inches high; is six years old, sound and free from any natural blemish, and possesses perfect symmetry, a fine temper, and splendid action. Vitellius's performancer on the turf, as a three years old, were of a very superior character; and, at four years old, he won the Great Northamptonshire stakes in 1844, beating Hooton, Knight of the Whistle, Naworth, and other celebrated horses, sixteen starting; and, the following day, he won her Majesty's Guineas, beating St Lawrence easily.
