Cronkhite, Marion, Ind., writes: It was in the year 1893 that my attention was called to a preparation of petroleum for internal use in sustaining, treating and the cure of the above diseases. Having read of the wonderful results obtained by it, I determined to try it thoroughly for myself in cases which had resisted my endeavor in the way of treatment. The results were so satisfactory that for the benefit of my fellow practitioners and suffering humanity I desire to occupy just enough of your valuable space to mention a few of the many cases treated with this preparation-Terraline. In tuberculosis patients, the time comes when the physician is puzzled for a medicament that the stomach will tolerate. For a time the various forms of codliver oil are permitted; these are only food, and that limited or a small degree, while in Terraline we not only have a food, but a medicine possessing great curative power. Pulmonary Tuberculosis. Young woman, age 25, married, occupation, housewife. This patient had been sick for three months, was pale, anemic, menses stopped, food rejected, temperature 101°, pulse 100. Her sleep was restless and cough was nearly constant. I placed her on Terraline, teaspoonful every three hours with a little sherry wine. The result was truly magical. The cough gradually ceased, she slept well, appetite returned, and after six months I gave her no further treatment, as she was apparently well. My second and third cases were those of a mother aged 42 and a daughter aged 19 (charity cases). Both were in the last stages of consumption and the major part of the time in bed, coughing and expectorating large quantities of a muco-purulent sputum. I again used Terraline, in small, frequently repeated doses, and had the pleasure of seeing life made quite comfortable for the few weeks they lived. Bronchitis putrid. Married woman, 35 years of age and the mother of four children. She had been treated by another physician for four weeks; during that time all the medicines usually employed in such cases and many others had been used, but patient gradually grew worse and condition very alarming. Stomach very irritable, retaining only bland food, respiration rapid, short and catchy. Patient greatly emaciated and wild from the loss of sleep. We put her on teaspoonful doses of Terraline every hour for twelve hours, after which three to five hours and sherry wine ad libitum. To use her own words, "I was better from the first dose." In six weeks she was attending to her house work and is alive and in sound health today. Now it is not supposed that the physician can fold his arms and sit calmly by. He must see that the patient has proper care in nursing, diet and baths, and bowels regulated. Colds. I mean by this word, coryza and catarrhal conditions of the respiratory tract. In these Terraline will never disappoint the practitioner. The patient should have a cathartic, then follow with small doses, half to one teaspoonful, from one to three or four hours; by so doing you get the soothing and palliative effect from the Terraline. Always give without water, thus the mucous surfaces are coated with a thin film of Terraline, and the effect is much more marked. No preparation has given me such general beneficial effects in phthisis, coughs and colds. In these it is par excellence. It does not sicken the stomach nor digestive organs, which is usually the case with oils and emulsions. The effect is quick and benefit always follows, and a cure very often in apparently hopeless cases. Terraline is so cheap that the poorest may have it. The practitioner should use it to merit the praise of his patients and add dollars to his exchequer. Aletris Cordial. Wm. Geddes, M.D., 1720 14th st., Washington, D. C., says: Aletris Cordial has proven, in a case of dysmenorrhea of some years' standing, wonderfully efficacious, and has, apparently, given to the sufferer complete relief.
