ness and truth unto such as keep his covenant, &c. What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose: his soul shall dwell at ease, and his seed shall inherit the earth. The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant (or make them know it), Ps. xxv. 10. 12-14. :

O! how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men! Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence, from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion, from the strife of tongues.-Ps. xxxi. 19, 20: xxvii. 5. xxxvi. 7, 8.

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered, Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit is no guile. I will in struct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go; I will guide thee with mine eyes.-Ps. xxxii. 1,

Blessed is the nation, whose God is the Lord; the people he hath chosen for his own inheritance, &c. Behold the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them who hope in his mercy, to deliver their soul from death, to keep them alive in famine. Ps. xxxiii. 12. 18, 19. xxxiv. 7. 9, 10. 1 Kings xvii. 3, 4. Gen. xlv. 6, 7.

The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears open to their cry, &c. None of them who trust in him shall be desolate.-Ps. xxxiv. 15. 22. v. 11, 12.

Delight thyself also in the Lord, and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart, &c. A little that a righteous man hath, is better than the riches of many wicked, &c. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord; and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord up

holdeth him with his hand, &c. Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging their bread, &c. For the Lord loveth judg ment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever, &c. Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright; for the end of that man is peace. The salvation of the righteous is of the Lord; he is their strength in the time of trouble.-Ps. xxxvii. 4. 16. 23-25. 28. 37. 39. Prov. xxix. 7. Ps. cxxviii.

The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.-Ps. xlv. 13.

The Lord of hosts is with us, the God of Jacob is our refuge.-Ps. xlvi. 7. 11.

Gather my saints unto me, those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.-Ps. 1. 5.

Blessed is the man whom thou choosest to approach unto thee, &c. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.-Ps. lxv. 4. xxxvi. 8.

Truly, God is good to Israel, to such as are of a clean heart.-Ps. lxxiii. 1.

The Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. Ps. lxxxiv. 11.

He will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints, &c. His salvation is nigh thein that fear him.→ Ps. lxxxv. 8, 9.

Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound; they shall walk in thé light of thy countenance.-Ps. lxxxix. 15, &c. i

The righteous shall flourish like the palm-tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the Lord, shall flourish in the courts of our God: they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing. Ps. xcii, 12-14.

The Lord will not cast off his people: neither will he forsake his inheritancePs. xeiv. 14. ix. 10

He is our God, and we the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.-Ps. xcv. 7.

He preserveth the souls of his saints, &c. Light is sown for the righteous, &c.-Ps. xcvii. 10, 11. lxxii. 14.

When they were few, &c. he suffered no man to do them wrong; yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.-Ps. cv. 1215. cxxiv. 2, 3. cxxv. 1, 2.

Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord his seed shall be mighty upon the earth. The generation of the upright shall be blessed, &c. Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be had in everlasting remembrance.-Ps. cxii. 1-4. 6, 7.

As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about his people, from henceforth even for ever. Ps. cxxv. 2.

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.-Ps. cxvi. 15. lxxii. 14.

The Lord hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.-Ps. cxxxv. 4. 1 Pet. v. 3. Happy is the people that is in such a case happy that people, whose God is the Lord.-Ps. cxliv. 15. He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him he also will hear their cry, and will save them.-Ps. cxlv. 19. John ix. 31.

Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help; whose hope is in the Lord his God.-Ps. cxlvi. 5.

The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.-Ps. cxlvii. 11.

The Lord taketh pleasure in his people, &c. This honour have all his saints.-Ps. cxlix. 4. 9.

The froward is an abomination to the Lord but his secret is with the righteous. Prov. iii, 32.

I love them that love me, &c. that I may cause those that love me to inherit substance: and I will fill their

treasures, &c. Blessed are they that keep my ways, &c. who heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors: for whoso findeth me findeth life; and shall obtain favour of the Lord.-Prov. viii. 17. 21. 32. 34, 35. Ps. cxix. 1, 2.

Righteousness delivereth from death: the Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish, &c. Blessings are upon the head of the just, &c. The memory of the just is blessed, &c. The desire of the righteous shall be granted.-Prov. x. 2, 3. 6, 7. 24.

By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted.-Prov. xi. 11.

The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour.-Prov. xii. 26. Ps. xvi. 3.

When a man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.-Prov. xvi. 7. The righteous are bold as a lion.Prov. xxviii. 1.

The woman, whose heart is snares and nets, &c. Whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her.-Eccles. vii. 26.

Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.-Isa. iii. 10. Eccles. viii. 12. Ps. xxxvii. 10, 11. 17, 18. Isa. lxv. 13, 14.

Bind up the testimony; seal the law among my disciples.-Isa. viii. 16.

He that walketh righteously (or in righteousness), &c. he shall dwell on high; his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his water shall be sure; thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty, they shall behold the land that is very far off.-Isa. xxxiii. 15-17.

God caused the sun to go backward ten degrees for a sign to Hezekiah of his recovery.-Isa. xxxviii. 6,7.

This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise. ' Isa. xliii. 21.

Unto them will I give in my house a place, and a name, better than of sons and of daughters; I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off, &c. Them will I bring unto my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: and their burnt-offerings shall be accepted upon my altar.-Isa. lvi. 5-7.

In all their affliction he was afflicted; and the angel of his presence saved them, &c. Doubtless thou art our Father, &c. Return for thy servants sake, the tribes of thine inheritance, the people of thine holiness, &c.-Isa. Ixiii. 9. 16-18. Ixiv. 9.

Since the beginning of the world, men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, besides thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him (or, a God besides thee, who doth so for him who waiteth), &c.-Isa. lxiv. 4. 1 Cor. ii. 9.

When Jerusalem was taken, and Jeremiah the prophet, the king of Babylon gave charge concerning Jeremiah, &c. Look well to him, and do him no harm; but do unto him even as he shall say unto thee. — Jer. xxxix. 11, 12. Numb. xiv. 37, 38.

The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed ! &c.-Lam. iv. 2.

God ordered the mark of salvation to be upon his, when all others were to be smitten.-Ezek. ix. 4—6.

Jacob, &c. by his strength he had power with God; yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed; he

wept, &c. There he spake with us, even the Lord God of hosts.-Hosea xii. 2-5. Gen. xxxii. 24, 25. Hosea xi. 12.

I will be as the dew unto Israel; he shall grow as the lily, &c.-Hosea xiv. 5, 6.

For he that toucheth you, touches the apple of his eye.-Zech. ii. 8.

The Lord hearkened, and heard ; and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels (or special treasure); and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked; between him that serveth God, and him that serveth him not.-Mal. iii. 16-18.

Unto you that fear my name, shall the Sun of Righteousness arise, with healing in his wings and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the

They are pronounced blessed, and entitled to many privileges mentioned by Christ. They are the salt of the earth, the light of the world, &c.— Matt. v. 3-14.

The very hairs of your head are all numbered, &c. Ye are of more value than many sparrows.-Matt.x.30,31. Among them that are born of women, there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven, is greater than he.Matt. xi. 11.

It is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, &c. Blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear, &c.-Matt. xiii. 11. 16. Mark iv. 11, 12. 34.

When Peter began to sink, Christ helped him.-Matt. xiv. 30, 31.

Whoso shall offend one of these little ones who believe in me, it were better for him that a mill-stone were hanged about his neck, &c. Woe unto the world, because of offences, &c. Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones: for I say unto you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father, &c.Matt. xviii. 6, 7. 10.

That they shall deceive the elect, if it were possible.-Matt. xxiv. 24.

To as many as received him, to them gave he power (or the right or privilege) to become the sons of God; even to them that believe on his name; which are born, not of blood, &c. but of God.-John i. 12, 13.

Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him, shall never thirst.-John iv. 14.

Jesus said, I am the light of the world he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. He who keepeth my saying, shall never see death, &c.John viii. 12. 36. 51.

My sheep, &c. I know them, &c.

and I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.— John x. 27, 28. 1 John v. 12, 13.

If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be. If any man serve me, him will my Father honour. -John xii. 26.

I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you, &c. Ye see me; because I live, ye shall live also. He that loveth me, shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. And my Father will love him; and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him, &c. Ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you, &c. Ye are my friends, &c. Henceforth I call you not servants, &c. but I have called you friends: for all things that I have heard of my Father, I have made known unto you.-John xv. 7. 14, 15. 1 John iii. 22. John ix. 31.

Rom. x. 12, 13.

The Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, &c.-John xvi. 27.

Christ prays for them, not for the world.-John xvii. 9, 10.

Go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father, and to my God, and your God.-John xx. 17.

God is no respecter of persons; but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.-Acts x. 34, 35.

Paul, in his dangerous voyage, is instructed by a heavenly vision, that there should be no loss of any man's life among those that sailed with him: and that God had given him all their lives.-Acts xxvii. 22-24.

Being justified by faith, we have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, &c. The love of God is shed abroad into our hearts, by

the Holy Ghost, which is given unto us.-Rom. v. 1. 5.

Sin shall not have dominion over you, because ye are not under the law, but under grace. Now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.-Rom. vi. 14. 22.

There is no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus, &c. For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death, &c. As many as are led by the Spirit of God, are the sons of God: for ye have not received the spirit of bondage, but the Spirit of adoption, &c. And if children, then heirs, heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ, &c. We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, &c. If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, &c. how shall he not with him also freely give. us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? it is God that justifies. Who is he that condemneth? &c. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? &c. We are more than conquerors, &c.-Rom. viii. 1, 2. 14-17.28.3135. 37. Gal. iv. 5-7. Ps. xxv. 10.

Whosoever believeth, &c. shall not be ashamed, &c. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.-Rom. x. 11—13.

The God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.-Rom. xvi. 20.

But he that is spiritual, judgeth (or discerneth) all things; yet he himself is judged (or discerned) of no man.-1 Cor. ii. 15.
