CURANTUR OR CURENTUR?

Is it Curantur or is it Curentur? Herr Doctor; Hofrath Doctor; Reg. Rath. Ritter Doctor; Med. Doctor; Aerzt Doctor; Gray Beard; Scientist of Auburn Locks; Most Worthy Senior of the Ancient and Honorable, the American Institute of Homoeopathy; Sapient Yearling of that same distinguished Society; Fellow of a dozen Institutes for the promulgation of Medical Knowledge; Latin Lover; Student of the Greek and of Philology; Gentleman of polyglot proclivities; pray ye, heed this question, ponder upon it, give it thought and careful study. Is it rightly-Similia similibus curantur, or similia similibus curentur ?

Did dear and venerable the father Hahnemann say that likes are cured by likes, or that likes may be cured by likes?

What was the opinion of Madame Melanie, the Frau? Which diction did war dering Friedrich favor? Had Boenninghausen any choice?

Carl the critic says that the proper spelling is curentur, and that whoso spells the word in other fashion not only writes himself a literary ass but is far from being a good homoeopath. A discussion of this question may be found in the British Journal of Homœopathy, Vol. XX, p. 314. In the British Journal, Vol. II, p. 188, Dr. M. J.
