I WANT TO BE AN ANGEL.

I want to be an angel,
And with the angels stand,
A crown upon my forehead,
A harp within my hand.
There, right before my Saviour,

So glorious and so bright,
I'd wake the sweetest music,
And praise him day and night.

I never should be weary,
Nor ever shed a tear,
Nor ever know a sorrow,

Nor ever feel a fear.
But blessed, pure, and holy,
I'd dwell in Jesus' sight,
And with ten thousand angels
Would praise Him day and night.

I know I'm weak and sinful,
But Jesus will forgive,
For many little children

Have gone to heaven to live.
Dear Saviour, when I languish,
And lay me down to die,
Oh! send a shining angel
To bear me to the sky.

Oh, then I'll be an angel,

And with the angels stand, A crown upon my forehead, A harp within my hand: And there, before my Saviour, So glorious and so bright, I'll join the heavenly music, And praise Him day and night.

Just as I am-without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me;
And that Thou bid'st me come to thee,

O Lamb of God, I come!

Just as I am--and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot; [spot,
To Thee, whose blood can cleanse each
O Lamb of God, I come!
Just as I am-though tossed about
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
Fightings within, and fears without,

O Lamb of God, I come!

Just as I am-poor, wretched, blind; Sight, riches, healing of the mind, Yea, all I need, in Thee to find,

O Lamb of God, I come. Just as I am-Thou wilt receive, Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve, Because Thy promise I believe,

O Lamb of God, I come!

Just as I am!-Thy love unknown
Has broken every barrier down;
Now, to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come!
