A Prayer for the Clergy and people. ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, who

alone workest great marvels; Send down upon our Bishops, and Curates, and all Congregations committed to their charge, the healthful Spirit of thy grace; and that they may truly please thee, pour upon them the continual dew of thy blessing. Grant this, O Lord, for the honour of our Advocate and Mediator, Jesus Christ. Amen.

A Prayer of ST. CHRYSOSTOM.

ALMIGHTY God, who hast given us

grace at this time with one accord to make our common supplications unto thee; and dost promise, that when two or three are gathered together in thy Name thou wilt grant their requests: Fulfil now, O Lord, the desires and petitions of thy servants, as may be most expedient for them; granting us in this world knowledge of thy truth, and in the world to come life everlasting. Amen.

2 COR. xiii.

things it is necessary that he hold the Catholick Faith.

Which Faith except every one do keep whole and undefiled without doubt he shall perish everlastingly.

And the Catholick Faith is this: That we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity.

Neither confounding the Persons: nor dividing the Substance.

For there is one Person of the Father, another of the Son and another of the Holy Ghost. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, is all one: the Glory equal, the Majesty co-eternal.

Such as the Father is, such is the Son : and such is the Holy Ghost.

This creed is now generally ascribed to befiling, an african who lived towards the end of the 5th century. Being consi: : dured a valuable exposition it was adopted by most of the ancient westen Churches.

In repetition of all creeds, men address only one another, upon terms of squeality. —
