The bition and human greatness, needs only to dwell here upon the lessons which it teaches. Amid all this, the weakness which is attributed to us, of admiring what is foreign, merely because it is so, becomes equally ridiculous and unreasonable with the absurd prejudice that leads us to denounce everything unallied to us. vast territory stretching from Maine to Florida, from the Atlantic to the Rocky Mountains, contains in itself wonders of nature and wonders of art which no other country possesses; and while we learn to admire what is worthy of admiration in other lands, let us also study and venerate the wonders of our own country.
