"They take delight in approaching to God."

1 We come in childhood's innocence,
We come, as children, free!
We offer up, O God! our hearts
In trusting love to Thee.

2 Well may we bend, in solemn joy,
At Thy bright courts above;
Well may the grateful child rejoice
In such a Father's love.

3 We come not as the mighty come;
Not as the proud we bow;

But as the pure in heart should bend,
Seek we Thine altar now.

4" Forbid them not," the Saviour said ;

In holy rapture dumb,

We hear the call

Father! we come

we seek Thy face,

-we come!

"In the morning I will direct my prayer unto Thee."

Air-"Mountain Maid's Invocation."

Come, come, come!

Don't delay, haste away,

To the Sabbath School to-day;

Here to meet, and to greet

All in friendship sweet.

Come while yet the dews of morn
Nature's face with pearls adorn ;
Be in time, rain or shine-

Order is divine.

To the happy, happy school,
Joyous, joyous Sabbath School!
Be in time, rain or shine,
Order is divine!

Come, come, come!
Not a tear-naught of fear
Nor of sorrow is found here;
Faces bright, tempers right,
O, the happy sight!
Health and beauty all around,
And no harsh or jarring sound;
Light and free, full of glee,
All is harmony.
Ọ, the happy, happy school!
Joyous, joyous Sabbath-school,-
Light and free, full of glee,
All is harmony.

"Let them that love Him be as the sun, when he goeth forth in his might."

1 I'll awake at dawn on the Sabbath day,
For 'tis wrong to doze holy time away,
With my lesson learned, this shall be my rule,
Never to be late at the Sabbath School.

2 Birds awake betimes, every morn they sing,
None are tardy there, when the woods do ring;
So when Sunday comes, this shall be my rule,
Never to be late at the Sabbath School.

3 When the summer's sun wakes the flowers again, They the call obey · none are tardy then;

Nor will I forget that it is my rule,
Never to be late at the Sabbath School.

"The Lord will bless His people with peace."

1 O God of Light and Love,
Look from Thy throne above,
And bliss impart ;

While we in worship meet,
Holding communion sweet,
Make Thou our joy complete;
Bind heart to heart.

2 Great God, with heavenly power,
Fill Thou this sacred hour;

Make us as one:

May we united be,

Keep us from error free,

True to Thy word and Thee, -
True to Thy Son.

"Joy cometh in the morning."

1 Now far have fled the shades of night,
The sun in splendor reigns,
Pouring a flood of golden light

O'er mountains, vales and plains.

2 How pleasant and how fair the sight,
Morn's early beams disclose,

The meadows green, the waters bright,
The dew-drop on the rose!

3 God of our lives! Thine is the care
Which bade the sun to shine,
And placed us in a world so fair,
Where all bright things are Thine.

4 O may we learn in all Thy ways,
Thy goodness still to see,
And in the morning of our days,
Give our young hearts to Thee!

"God, even our own God shall bless us "

1 O Lord of Life! to Thee we pray,
Send down Thy spirit from above,
And fill, great Fount of truth, this day,
Each mind with light, each heart with love.

2 Thy children, Father, wilt Thou bless,
Conform our wills unto Thine own,
Give to Thy glorious word success,
And raise within each soul Thy throne.

"Lead me in Thy truth and teach me."
1 Father in heaven, Thy ceaseless love
Has brought us to this holy day;
Blest with Thy kindness from above,
Another week has passed away.

2 Grant us, O Lord, a grateful heart
To feel Thy goodness and obey:
Ne'er may we from Thy love depart,
Ne'er may we leave Thy heavenly way!

3 Grant us this day, a willing mind
To learn what Thou wouldst have us do,
And how we may Thy favor find,
And love and serve each other too.

4 Thy happy children may we live,
Thy happy children may we die;
To all may God, our Father, give
A home of bliss beyond the sky.

JOHN PIERPONT.

"I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me."

1 O God, I thank Thee that the night In peace and rest hath passed away; And that I see in this fair light,

My Father's smile, that wakes the day.

2 Be Thou my Guide, and let me live
As under Thine all-seeing eye:
Supply my wants, my sins forgive,
And make me happy when I die.
