day without sin.-May the hours here passed leave no stain upon our hearts.-May the thought of Thy presence hallow all our joys. -And may we go back to our homes-with fresh strength for the work we have to do,with thanks to Thee for the fair world in which we live,-thanks for the friends who share with us its joys, thanks for the hope of meeting them in Heaven.-Father, hear our prayer, and answer it through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

FOR AN ANNIVERSARY.

INTRODUCTORY SENTENCES.

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them.

What doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul?

O that such hearts were in you that you would love God, and keep all His laws, that it might be well with you all the days of your life.

PSALM.

Taken from Psalms lxiii., lxxxiv.

Supt.-O God, Thou art my God;
Chil.-Early will I seek Thee,

Supt. My soul thirsteth for Thee; my flesh also longeth after Thee,

Chil. In a barren and dry land where no water is.

Supt.-As long as I live will I magnify Thee in this manner.

Chil. And lift my hands in Thy name. Supt.-For Thy loving-kindness is better than the life itself:

Chil.-My lips shall praise Thee.

Supt.-O how amiable are Thy dwellings, Thou Lord of hosts!

Chil. My soul hath a desire and longing to enter into the courts of the Lord.

Supt.-My heart and my flesh rejoice in the living God.

Chil.-Blessed are they that dwell in Thy

house;

Supt. They will be always praising Thee. Chil.-Blessed is the man whose strength is in Thee;

Supt.-In whose heart are Thy ways,

Chil. For one day in Thy court is better than a thousand.

Supt. I had rather be a door-keeper in the house of my God,

Chil.-Than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Supt. For the Lord God is a light and defence;

Chil.-The Lord will give grace and worship;

Supt.-And no good thing will He withhold from them that live a godly life.

Chil.-O Lord God of hosts, blessed is the man that putteth his trust in Thee.

PRAYER.

ATHER in Heaven, we bow with glad hearts before Thy throne,-and worship Thee, the High and Holy One.-We pray Thee to bless us who are met here this day.-' Bless the friends who are with us,-and those we love who are not here.-Bless not only us, but all the world.-We thank Thee, O God, that Thou hast spared our lives to this hour.-May we be made better by the glad lessons which it brings to our souls.—In the midst of the young and the joyous, may our hearts be pure and right.

We thank Thee for the year that is gone,and for all we have learned of Thee and our duty. If we have not used Thy gifts as we ought, we pray Thee to forgive us for all that is past. And help us this day to give ourselves anew to Thy service.

We bless Thee for every gift of Thy love. -We bless Thee for the memory of the dead who died in the Lord,-and for the saints of all ages, who fought the good fight and kept the faith; we bless Thee for Christ, the dear Redeemer-and pray that we may have more and more of his spirit.

And O, our Father, we would not forget this day, those who walk not in Thy paths. -We pray for those poor children, whose parents know Thee not.-Their homes are dark and drear.-Their hearts are sick and sad with sin.-Their minds have no ray of light from Thy word.-They are without

Thee, and without hope in the world.-Shew them Thy ways, O God.-Teach them Thy paths, that they may know Thee, the Father, and love and serve Thee.

Be with us here to-day.-Bless all we do.May all things be done to the praise of Thy name. And if Thou shalt spare us to meet again, may we come with hearts and minds stored with the rich gifts of Thy love.—And unto Thee, through Christ,-who lived and died for us,-be praise and glory, now and Amen.
