Report of Eight Cases Treated with Gude's Pepto-Man

CASE L.-D. G, female, aged seventy-eight, entered Bel Hospital suffering with pelvic cellulitis, the symptoms of wb -* peared at the end of a week. The patient was fairly well 1-8 but with an excessively pale, waxy color. CASE IL-E. W, aged seventeen, had the most F anæmia after recovering from a severe attack of scarlet fever ination of blood showed six and one-half per cent hæmogle! 2.533.000 corpuscles to a cubic millimetre. After taking the 7 ** tion forty days, the amount of hæmoglobin had increased to 19 cent, and the corpuscles to 4,500,000.

CASE III-A. W-, female, aged twenty-two, had been ively anemic for over a year; complained of headaches, 72.4 ears, dizziness, neuralgic pains, no organic lesion. Blood showe per cent. hemoglobin and 3.520,000 corpuscles to a cubic ma the corpuscles themselves were changed, some being mucrocy po kilocytes After twenty-three days the treatment was as the hemoglobin was normal in amount and the corpuseles creased to 5000,000 to each cubic millimetre. The result was the most pronounced of any.

CASE IV Charles M-, aged twenty-one, sub-acute lasting six weeks, very anæmic; no fever, some loss in flesh taken syr ferr: iodidi for a month, with but slight improvergeneral appearance. Hæmoglobin eight and one-half per cent puscles 3.800.000 to each cubic millimetre. At the end c* F* days, when the treatment was stopped, the hæmoglobin had u one and one-half per cent., and the corpuscles to 4,600,000, the " the chest had disappeared.

CASE V.-F. B. female, aged twenty-two, was admitte hospital suffering from insufficiency of the mitral valve Presco pale and anæmic appearance seen in cardiac disease. After the 20 had improved so that she was up and about the ward she was par pepto-mangan (Gude). The examination of the blood at E showed eight and one-half per cent. of hæmoglobin, and 2,600.m puscles to the cubic millimetre. After taking the preparatum 1five days the hæmoglobin was eleven per cent, and the son ướt 4.000.000 per cubic millimetre.

CASE VI-B M-, aged twenty-four, suffering from primar mia and menstrual disturbances. No organic lesion Hamog'o per cent, corpuscles 3.000.000 per cubic millimetre. After Må preparation forty-three days the amount of hæmoglobin teme ten per cent, but the corpuscles had increased 1,200,000 per cu limetre.
