WHY SHOULD YOU HAVE A BATTERY?

Because the brightest minds in the medical profession recognize electricity as a therapeutic agent of great value.

Because the physician who is electrically equipped is the one who is reaping the harvest. You are not practicing medicine for your health. Because, in all cases, you wish to use the remedy best adapted to the case, and many times you could avoid ultra

and dangerous methods by

its timely use.

Because it exceeds, for diagnostic purposes anything yet known.

Therefore, as there is a great difference in batteries it would be wise to ask us to send you our large catalogue. 200 pages. It contains much valuable literature and will assist you greatly. NO CHARGE to physicians who mention this Journal.

F the many excellent mineral springs in California, none possess greater therapeutic value than those found at Byron.

Leading physicians are constantly sending to these springs patients who are suffering from rheumatism, gout, chronic arthritis, gastric irritability, chronic hepatic disorders, "gin livers," torpidity of the bowels, blood-glandular, nephritic, and genitourinary diseases.

The "Liver and Kidney" Water is highly recommended in gastro-intestinal disorders, chronic hepatic torpidity, lithæmic condition of the blood, and inactivity of the kidneys. The water has tonic, antacid, diuretic, and laxative properties.

The "White Sulphur" Water has proven valuable in rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, and blood glandular and cutaneous diseases. Its action is tonic, diuretic, alterative, aperient, and antacid.

The "Iron" Water contains peroxide of iron, and is of great value in cases of anæmia, chlorosis, anorexia, neurasthenia, malarial toxæmia, and allied diseases having a tendency to destroy the vitality of the red blood corpuscles.

A special feature of the Byron Sanitarium is the large and commodious bathing facilities. All kinds of hydrotherapy is practiced under the direction of the competent physician in charge. Baths are given in tubs and in plunge. The waters are sulphurous and saline; steam baths are used as well as the famous sulphurous mud. There is no treatment known to modern medicine for rheumatism, gout, swollen joints, scrofula, and skin diseases that promises more brilliant results than can be produced by these hot sulphurous mud baths, especially when combined with judicious internal medication.

Physicians are invited to visit the springs. They are invited to prescribe internal medication for their patients, with the assurance that the physician in charge will assist them in every way by the administration and external use of the mineral waters. The hotel accommodations are all that can be desired. The food is of the best that can be procured. Terms, $15 per week and upwards.

Literature and analyses of the mineral waters, taken from Dr. Winslow Anderson's book on "Mineral Springs and Health Resorts of California," will be furnished gratis on application.
