Luke, Chap. 17. 11 And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: and they lifted
their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on
14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go, shew yourselves unto the priest. And it came to pass, that, as they wept, they were cleansed.
15 And one of them,, when he saw that he was healedi, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks, and he was a Samaritan.
17 And Jesus answering, said, Were there not ten cleansed ? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole.
20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees wben the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation.
21 Neither shall they say, Lo, here! or, lo, there! for, behold the kingdom of God is within you.
22 And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and
shall not see it. 23 And they shall say to you, See here: or see there; go not after them, nor follow them
24 For as the lightning that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of Man be in his day. But first must le suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark; and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
23 Likewise also, as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded :
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed. In that day, he which shall be upon the house top, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away; and lie that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
32 Remember Lot's wife. Whosoever shall seek to save Iris life, shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed: the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
35 Two women shall be grinding together : the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
Luke, Chap. 18. Matthew, Chap. 19. And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint ;
2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: and there was a widow in that city: and she came into him, saysing, Avenge me of mine adversary.
4 And he would not for a while : but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.,
6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth ?
9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were rigliteous, and despised others :
10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 The Pharisee stood, and prayed thus with himself, God, i thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not list up so much as his eyes' unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God me merciful to me a simer.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other : for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased, and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
15 And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
6 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, shall in no wise enter therein.
18 And a certain ruler asked hini, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inlıerit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good ? none is good, save one, that is God.
20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not onmmit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
21 And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.
22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he loved him, and he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing ; sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven : and come, follow me.
But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful : for he had great possessions.
24 And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's
eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26 And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved ?
27 And he said, The things which are inpossible with men are possible with God.
28 Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all and followed thee.
29 And lie said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.
31 Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of Man shall be accom. plished
32 For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: and they shall scourge him, and put him to death ; and the third day be shall rise again.
34 And they understood nonc' of these things : and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.
Luke, Chap. 19.
2 And behold, there was a man named Zaccheus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
4. And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him ; for he was to pass that way.
5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw bim, and said unto him, Zaccheus, make baste and come down; for to-day I must abide at thy house.
6 And he made haste, and came down; and received him joyfully, And when they saw it they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinuer.
8 And Zaccheus stood, and said unto the Lord, Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him four fold.
9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
11 And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.
12 He said, therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
3 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.
15 And it came to pass, that, when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then le commanded these servants
to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading
16 Then caine the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, bave thou the authority over ten cities.
18 And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.
20 And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin : for I feared thee, because thou art an austere man; thou takest
that thou layest not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.
22 And he said unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
23 Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?
24 And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds. (And they said unto him, Lord, lie hath ten pounds.)
26 For I say unto you, that unto every one wbich hath shall be given : and from him that hath not, even that he bath shall be taken away from himn.
27 But those mine eneinies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring bither, and slay them before me.
28 And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascendo ing up to Jerusalem..
LESSON LIV. Matthew, Chap. 21.. Luke, Chap. 20. 23 AND when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things ? and who gave
thee this authority ? 24 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
