Causes not easy to control have made the issue of this volume later than had been National Eclectic Medical Association, 1881. ELEVENTH ANNUAL MEETING. The National Eclectic Medical Association of the United States of America met in annual session, persuant to adjournment, at the Hall of the Lindell Hotel, in the city of St. Louis, Missouri, on Wednesday, the fifteenth day of June, 1881, at ten o'clock in the morning. The President, Anson L. Clark, M. D., of Chicago, called the meeting to order, and introduced the Rev. W. V. Tudor, of St. Louis, who offered the opening prayer. Mayor Ewing then addressed the Association, welcoming the members to St. Louis, and promising to them the courtesies and kind offices of its citizens. He expressed the hope that during their stay such friendships would be engendered, and mutual good feeling, that the memories which they would carry home from the Queen City of the West, would be among the most pleasant and enduring of their lives. The President replied, acknowledging the honor rendered by the chief magistrate of St. Louis, and paying an appropriate tribute to the city and its people.
