Ireland, &c.

In pursuance of an act paffed in the prefent feffions of Parliament, entitled, "An act to prohibit all trade and intercourse with the feveral colonies therein mentioned?" We do hereby licenfe authorize and perimit Nathaniel Pendleton, mafter of the fhip Induftry, of the burthen of ninety tons to proceed with the faid fhip and cargo, confifting of the particulars fpecified in the schedule annexed, from the port of Liverpool to the port of Bofton, or any other in North America, there to unload and deliver the faid cargo, and to return from thence with his faid fhip to Great-Britain or Ireland, This licence to fubfift and be in force from the day of the date hereof until her return as aforefaid.

Given under our Hands, and the Seal of the Office
of Admiralty, the ift day of February, 1776.

To all Flag Officers, Captains, Commanders, and
other commiffioned Officers in his Majefty's Pay;
and alfo to all others whom thefe Prefents fhall

or may concern.

By command of their Lordships,

Note, If any goods, wares or merchandize, other than ftores and provifions for his Majefty's use, or provifions for the ufe of the inhabitants of any town or place garrifoned or poffeffed by his Majefty's troops, fhall be found on board any licensed fhip, or if the cargoes fhall not correfpond with the particulars fpecified in the bodies of the refpective licences. (the neceffary ftores for the fhip's ufe, and the baggage of the paffengers only excepted) in either of thofe cafes the faid goods, wares, &c. fhall be forfeited, feized, and prosecuted as the faid act directs.

It was thought fit to alter the aforementioned form of licence, and to make another more prohibitory, by expreffing in the body, as was done in the note at the foot of the licence copied at the head of this account, that the fhip having such licence, would be permitted to go to fuch town or place only as might be garrifoned or poffeffed by his Majefty's troops, and the licence laft fettled is in the words following, viz

This was

len, master of the fhip Pallas, of the burthen of one hundred
and fixty tons, to proceed with the faid fhip and cargo, con-
fifting of the particulars fpecified in the fchedule annexed,
from the port of London to the port of Bofton, or any other
town or place in North America, garrifoned or poffeffed by
any of his Majefty's troops and not elfewhere, and there to
unload and deliver the faid cargo, and to return from thence
with his faid fhip to Great-Britain or Ireland. This licence
to fubfift and be in force from the day of the date hereof,
until her return as aforefaid.

Given under our Hands, and the Seal of the Office of
Admiralty, the 6th day of March, 1776.

To all Flag Officers, Captains, Commanders, and
