OF THE PARTICULAR SYNOD OF CHICAGO. ORGANIZATION. THE GENERAL SYNOD OF THE REFORMED PROTESTANT DUTCH CHURCH IN NORTH AMERICA, during its session in Utica, N. Y., in June, 1856, passed the following resolutions: Resolved, 1-That the Synod approve of the plan for the organization of a Particular Synod in the West. Resolved, 2-That the Classes of Illinois, Michigan, Holland, and Wisconsin be and hereby are set off, or dismissed from their respective Synods, to be organized as a new Particular Synod. Resolved, 3-That the Classes of Illinois, Michigan, Holland, and Wisconsin severally meet, at an early day, and choose delegates to meet on the first Tuesday of September next, at such place as they shall deem expedient, and proceed to organize a new Particular Synod, to be known as the Particular Synod of Chicago. "Resolved, 4-That the Rev. ISAAC FERRIS, D.D., and Rev. D. VAN Olinda, be a Committee on behalf of this Synod to aid and assist in the organization of the contemplated Synod; and that their expenses be defrayed by the Treasurer of the Synod." In accordance with the above resolutions, the Rev. ISAAC FERRIS, D.D., appeared at a meeting of delegates from the Classes set off to constitute the Particular Synod of Chicago, held in the Third Presbyterian Church of Chicago, on Wednesday, September 3d, at 11 o'clock A. M., as the Commissioner of General Synod, and opened the meeting with prayer. The following delegates presented certificates of their appointment, and were recognised as members of the contemplated Synod: From the Classis of Illinois-Rev. A. D. Wilson, Wm. Anderson.
