38 ̓́Εφη αὐτῷ ὁ Ιωάννης λέγων Διδάσκαλε, εἴδομέν τινα ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί σου ἐκβάλλοντα δαιμόνια, ὃς οὐκ ἀκολουθεῖ ἡμῖν, καὶ ἐκωλύομεν αὐτόν.

39 ̔Ο δὲ ̓Ιησοῦς εἶπεν Μὴ κωλύετε αὐτόν· οὐδεὶς γάρ ἐστιν ὃς ποιήσει δύναμιν ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματί μου καὶ δυνήσεται ταχὺ κακολογῆσαί με

40 Ὃς γὰρ οὐκ ἔστιν καθ ̓ ἡμῶν, ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν ἐστίν. 41 "Ος γὰρ ἂν ποτίσῃ ὑμᾶς ποτήριον ὕδατος ἐν ὀνόματι ὅτι Χριστοῦ ἐστέ, ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι οὐ μὴ ἀπολέσει τὸν μισθὸν αὐτοῦ. 42 Καὶ ὃς ἂν σκανδαλίσῃ ἕνα τῶν μικρῶν τῶν πίστιν ἐχόντων, καλόν ἐστιν αὐτῷ μᾶλλον εἰ περίκειται μύλος ὀνικὸς περὶ τὸν τράχηλον αὐτοῦ καὶ βέβληται εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν.

MATTHEW XVIII. 6.

6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

7 peculiar to Matt. Wherefore, if thy hand or thy foot

offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands, or two feet, to be

cast into everlasting fire.

MARK IX. 38.

38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name,

and he followeth not us; and we forbade him, because he followeth not

us.

39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not:

for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

40 For he that is not against us is on our part. 41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, He shall not lose his reward. [fend 42 And whosoever shall ofone of these little ones that believe in me,

• And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out,

and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life

with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

MARK IX. 45.

45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched;

46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out:

it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire;

48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

49 For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

50 Salt is good but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

XIX.

1 He departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts

of Judea beyond Jordan;

2 And great multitudes

And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people

αὐτῷ ὄχλοι πολλοί,

καὶ ἐθεράπευσεν αὐτοὺς ἐκεῖ. 3 Καὶ προσῆλθον αὐτῷ Φαρισαῖοι πειράζοντες αὐτὸν καὶ λέγοντες Εἰ ἔξεστιν (ἀνθρώπῳ) ἀπολῦσαι τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ

κατὰ πᾶσαν αἰτίαν ;
4 ̔Ο δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν
(αὐτοῖς)

Οὐκ ἀνέγνωτε ὅτι ὁ ποιήσας ἀπ' ἀρχῆς ἄρσεν καὶ θῆλυ ἐποίησεν αὐτούς ;

5 Καὶ εἶπεν "Ενεκα τούτου καταλείψει ἄνθρωπος τὸν πατέρα καὶ τὴν μητέρα καὶ κολληθήσεται τῇ γυναικὶ αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἔσονται οἱ δύο εἰς σάρκα μίαν.

6. Ωστε οὐκέτι εἰσὶν δύο ἀλλὰ σὰρξ μία. Ο οὖν ὁ Θεός συνέζευξεν, ἄνθρωπος μὴ χωριζέτω.

· Λέγουσιν αὐτῷ

Τί οὖν Μωϋσῆς ἐνετείλατο

δοῦναι βιβλίον ἀποστασίου καὶ ἀπολῦσαι ; 8 Λέγει αὐτοῖς "Οτι Μωϋσῆς

πρὸς τὴν σκληροκαρδίαν

ὑμῶν ἐπέτρεψεν ὑμῖν ἀπολῦσαι τὰς γυναῖκας ὑμῶν· ἀπ ̓ ἀρχῆς δὲ οὐ γέγονεν οὕτως.
