As the stag panteth for the water-brooks,
So pant our souls for thee, O God!
Our heart thirsteth for thee, the living God :
When shall we come to the presence of God ?
When I think of thee, I pour out my heart to thee,
And we ours, with the voice of joy and praise.
Why art thou cast down, O my soul ?
Why art thou uneasy within us ?
Hope ye in God:
We shall yet see the light of his countenance.
The Lord will show his loving-kindness in the
daytime;
In the night, his song shall be in our mouth.
Oh! send out thy light and thy truth;
Let them lead us to thy holy hill.
God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
We will not fear, though the earth be shaken,
Though the mountains be carried into the sea,
Though the waters of the sea roar,
Though the mountains tremble with their rage.
God is with us :
We shall not be moved.
God will help us,
And that quickly.
The mighty God is with us ;
The ancient God is our safety.
Be still, and you shall feel the presence of God.
The mighty God is with us; the ancient God is
our safety.
