2 Awake, my glory; harp and lute,
No longer let your strings be mute;
And I, my tuneful part to take,
Will with the early dawn awake.
3 Thy praises, Lord, I will resound
To all the listening nations round.
Thy mercy highest heaven transcends :
Thy truth beyond the clouds extends.
4 Be Thou, O God, exalted high!
And as Thy glory fills the sky,
So let it be on earth displayed,
Till Thou art here as there obeyed.

“Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in
heaven and in the earth." Psa. cxiii. L. M.

1 SERVANTS of God, in joyful lays,
Sing ye the Lord Jehovah's praise:
His glorious name let all adore,
From age to age, for evermore.

2 Blest be that name, supremely blest,
From the sun's rising to its rest.
Above the heavens His power is known ;
Through all the earth His goodness shown.
3 Who is like God?-so great, so high,
He bows Himself to view the sky;
And yet, with condescending grace,
Looks down upon the human race.
4 He hears the uncomplaining moan
Of those who sit and weep alone:
He lifts the mourner from the dust,
And saves the poor in Him that trust.

5 Servants of God, in joyful lays, Sing ye the Lord Jehovah's praise. His saving name let all adore, From age to age, for evermore.

25.

"He raiseth the poor out of the dust.”
Psalm cxiii. 7's.

1 HALLELUJAH. Raise, Oh raise
To our God the song of praise :
All His servants, join to sing
God our Saviour and our King.

2 Blessed be for evermore

That dread name which we adore!
Round the world His praise be sung,
Through all lands, in every tongue.
3 O'er all nations God alone,
Higher than the heavens His throne,
Who is like to God most high,
Infinite in majesty?

4 Yet to view the heavens He bends;
Yea, to earth He condescends;
Passing by the rich and great,
For the low and desolate.

5 He can raise the poor to stand
With the princes of the land;
Wealth upon the needy shower;
Set the meanest high in power.
6 He the broken spirit cheers;
Turns to joy the mourner's tears:
Such the wonders of His ways!
Praise His name ;-for ever praise

"What shall I render to the Lord?"

Psalm cxvi. 12, 13. C. M.

1 FOR mercies countless as the sands,
Which daily I receive

From Jesus my Redeemer's hands,
My soul, what canst thou give?

2 Alas! from such a heart as mine
What can I bring Him forth?
My best is stained and dyed with sin;
My all is nothing worth.

3 Yet this acknowledgment I'll make
For all He has bestowed;
Salvation's sacred cup I'll take,
And call upon my God.

4 The best returns for one like me,
So wretched and so poor,
Is from His gifts to draw a plea,
And ask Him still for more.

5 I cannot serve Him as I ought;
No works have I to boast;
Yet would I glory in the thought,
That I shall owe Him most.

27.

"Praise Him, all ye nations." Psalm cxvii. 7's.

1 PRAISE the Lord with hallowed mirth, Every nation, tribe, and tongue. Christians militant on earth,

Let your Saviour's praise be sung.

2 See His mercy o'er our land

Spread its ever-healing wing! See His truth through ages stand! Praise, Oh praise, th' Eternal King.

28.

THE SAME. 7's.

1 ALL ye Gentiles, praise the Lord :
All ye lands, your voices raise.
Heaven and earth, with loud accord,
Praise the Lord, for ever praise.

2 For His truth and mercy stand,
Past, and present, and to be,
Like the years of His right hand,
Like His own eternity.

3 Praise Him, ye who know his love:
Praise Him from the depths beneath :
Praise Him in the heights above:
Praise your Maker, all that breathe.

29.

THE SAME. P. M.

JEHOVAH'S praise sublime
Through the wide earth be sung:
Ye realms of every clime,

Ye tribes of every tongue,

His infinite compassion bless,
His ever-during faithfulness.

30.

"His mercy endureth for ever." Psa. cxxxvi. 7's. 1 LET us, with a gladsome mind, Praise the Lord, for He is kind : For His mercies shall endure, Ever faithful, ever sure.

2 He, with all-commanding might,
Filled the new-made world with light:
For His mercies shall endure,
Ever faithful, ever sure.

3 All things living He doth feed:
His full hand supplies their need:
For His mercies shall endure,
Ever faithful, ever sure.

4 He His chosen race did bless,
In the wasteful wilderness:
For His mercy shall endure,
Ever faithful, ever sure.

5 He hath, with a piteous eye,
Looked upon our misery:
For His mercy shall endure,
Ever faithful, ever sure.

6 Let us then, with gladsome mind,
Praise the Lord, for He is kind:
For His mercies shall endure,
Ever faithful, ever sure.

31.

THE SAME. 7's.

1 TO our God loud praises give,
Source of good to all who live.
Praise His name, whose mercy sure
Shall eternally endure.

2 To the Lord your homage bring,
God of gods, of kings the King.
For His mercy, free and sure,
Shall eternally endure.
