HamletAt the center of the tragedy is Hamlet, the young prince of the state of Denmark, who is to avenge the murder of his father. The drama takes place at Elsinore Castle. Claudius, the murderer and successor of Hamlet's father on the throne, tries to save life, limb and honor by resorting to intrigue. In the end, however, he dies by Hamlet Junior's hand, but he also plunges the entire Danish ruling dynasty into disaster, and Denmark falls to Norway. The revenge succeeds - but at what price?
